Martin Payne, Making Time Marketing

Martin Payne is Managing Director of Making Time Marketing.

Prior to founding Making Time Marketing, he was Strategic Projects Director and co-founder of Through the Loop. He worked across the range of Through the Loop clients including Boots Healthcare International, The Coca-Cola Company, Colony Gift Corporation, Entific Medical Systems, Eton College,  McCann-Erickson, Nestlé, Sunbeam Corporation, Tanita, TeliaSonera, Suunto and Thomson Holidays.

In October 2000, Martin was one of the co-founders of PurpleDoors, a multi-national research and consulting network.

Martin is editor of the on-line business and marketing strategy magazine Pool. He has also written for a number of marketing titles including Brand Strategy and Admap.

Prior to Through the Loop, Martin spent eight years at McCann-Erickson where he was Senior Market Analyst within the MERIC division of McCann-Erickson Europe. Here he worked on client-specific projects as well as international new business development for the McCann-Erickson worldwide network.

Martin has spoken at a number of conferences including a scenario planning conference in Florida in 1997. In March 2000, he presented at a conference in London where the subject is the advantages of monitoring customer activity in the Internet age. In February 2001, Martin presented Emerging Consumer Trends at The Institute of Packaging's conference on beer packaging. In May 2002, Martin spoke on the subject of Differential Pricing at a Marketing Week conference in London.

Between 2002 and 2006, Martin was a tutor for Integrated Marketing Communications for the CIM Postgraduate Diploma course and Marketing Communications/Marketing Research & Information for the CIM Diploma in Marketing and Marketing for the CIPS Professional Diploma at Basingstoke College of Technology.

Martin is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and Market Research Society. He has been Race Director for the ASICS Fleet Pre-London Half Marathon since 2005.
