David B. Polinchock, Principal, Creative
Strategies Location Based Branding, Inc. Online Creative Strategies for Brand
Experiences™ In
1991, David Polinchock used virtual reality to create Experiential Advertising™
programs for clients ranging from Avis to Cutty Sark. He was a featured speaker at conferences both in the US and abroad, on
creating experiences that allow the consumer to enter and interact with a brand
marketing message. Always ahead of
the curve, in 1994 he created a promotional experience for the American Hotel
& Motel Association that showed guests checking into the hotel of the future
via their wireless PDA, without having to go to the front desk at all -- two
years before Palm introduced their first product. Later, he worked on creative concepts for companies who wanted to use
themed entertainment experiences as a brand building tool. Today,
his company, Location Based Branding, Inc., continues that work by creating
Experiential Advertising™ and strategic ideation for ‘oneline’ (online and
offline) creative strategies for brand experiences and customer relationship
experiences. Additionally, they work as a strategic consultant for
advertising and promotional agencies, serving as a strategic consultant to their
clients in the area of creating brand experiences. Recent
project work includes the development of a strategic plan to help IBM WebSphere
reach the Internet start-up community. This
included identifying potential VC/funding and services partners, research of
appropriate event partners and creating unique sponsorship and/or event
opportunities. Location Based
Branding is also working with the Entertainment Technologies Lab at CMU to
market and commercialize their technologies in the entertainment, media and
advertising fields. Having started his career as a
performer for Walt Disney World, Mr. Polinchock has almost 20 years of
experience in event marketing and strategic ideation. His first company, CyberEvent Group (CEG) created Experiential
Advertising™ programs that allowed the consumer to enter and interact with a
client marketing message and was one of the first companies in the US to work
with fully immersive virtual reality. Clients
included the City of Avignon Festival, People Magazine, USA Network, Westwood
One Radio Network, American Express, Merrill Lynch and the Grateful Dead. CyberEvent Group also produced
many of the major national tours that used virtual reality, including the award
winning Cutty Sark Virtual Voyage, grand opening tours for Blockbuster stores
and won a MARCOM Award for Best Trade Show Exhibit with our Immersive Animation
Theatre for Cabletron Systems. In addition, they produced a number of events for the NY New
Media Association, including the first 2 Super Cybersud’s and their first
Venture Downtown. Mr.
Polinchock is an Adjunct Professor at the NYU School of Continuing &
Professional Studies Marketing and Management Institute, teaching Experiential
Branding and ‘oneline’ brand experiences. Features Written by David Polinchock |
