Angus Matthew

Angus Matthew is an environmental science graduate who has as a relationship marketer and who has an interest in social enterprise and corporate reputation management. He is a regular contributor to Pool and is seeking to practice in the area of reputation management using his understanding of marketing communications and his social and environmental background.

Angus was previously an account planner at Carlson Marketing Group, the world's leading relationship marketing company. His special interest is in emerging technologies and how this is impacting on traditional business practice, the structure of organisations, their marketing and the behaviour of consumers in light of this.  

Prior to this Angus was at TBWA, an advertising agency strictly in the traditional above-the-line mould. Here the majority of work concerned business strategy research under the remit of a proprietary ‘Disruption’ unit, for clients such as British Airways, PlayStation, The Sun and Hertz. This was concerned with framing and extending the awareness of the immediate business environment of chief decision makers within convergent markets. Essentially designed to challenge ‘conventions’, it sought to re-appraise a companies' central beliefs and attributes in a fast developing digital world. All findings were presented at senior boardroom level and in such a way as to stimulate maximum debate.
